“Sailing Around The World”
VETERAN SEAFARER’S PLANS
New York, Nov. 10.
A veteran seafarer, Captain Wiliam Sallsten, is setting out tomorrow on a three-years’ voyage around the world in a 25 ft. catamaran. He plans to go to Los Angeles via the Panama Canal, and thereafter his itinerary includes New Zealand, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Sumatra, India, England, and back to the United States.
Captain Sallsten built this own craft, consisting of three’ copper sheeted canoes joined together, and it will carry a spread of 350 square feet of sail. The cabin is only large enough to permit Captain Sallsten to lie down. He is accompanied by a pet monkey and also a violin.
